New Infrastructures to Support Residential Developments

New infrastructures such as new roads (Lentor Central, Lentor Hills Road and Lentor Gardens; forming a horseshoe shaped route), Lentor MRT (along the Thomson-East Coast Line), as well as the North-South Corridor are in place or in the making to serve the community in the upcoming Lentor Transformative site.

Interestingly to note, as we expand our lenses further towards Springleaf, former reserve sites in the URA Masterplan 2014, were changed to residential sites in the subsequent URA Masterplan 2019.


With a potentially large residential neighbourhood developing in the near future just a short distance from Lentor, the residential developments in Lentor may be an early mover advantage as the neighbourhood transforms and its property price appreciate over time, similar to what we have witnessed historically in recently developed neighbourhoods like Sengkang and Punggol.

Lentor Modern comprises of 605 residential units across three 25-storey towers, spanning from one to four bedroom type apartments.

The second development launched in the Lentor development site was Lentor Hills Residences. Jointly developed by Hong Leong, Guocoland and TID, Lentor Hills Residences comprises of 5 towers totalling 598 units (one to four bedroom types and three and four bedroom dual key). The development also has a child care centre and the iconic Alstonia Angustiloba Tree will be conserved within Lentor Hills Residences.

The third development slated to be launched on 28 October 2023 is Hillock Green. Jointly developed by Soilbuild, UEN (Yanlord) and Forsea Holdings, Hillock Green comprises of 474 units spread across 3 towers.

Lentor is essentially my home ground, having lived in District 20 and 26 for most part of my life. From my early years growing up in the Casuarina area as a child, I fondly remember the sights and sounds of the stretch along Upper Thomson Road. Moving back to Yio Chu Kang Road seven years ago, adjacent to the current Lentor transformative site, was like a homecoming for me, albeit one that was even more precious, setting up home with my husband and two girls. Moving back, I have been afforded the opportunity to revisit childhood haunts as well as explore the ever-changing landscape and architecture around the area.


Lentor's location is one of its most compelling features, which offers residents a unique opportunity to live in an urban setting while being surrounded by nature, making it an attractive destination for those seeking a harmonious lifestyle. It's strategic location offers a perfect blend of urban convenience and natural serenity.


Connectivity Game Changer with New Infrastructures

Despite its serene surroundings, Lentor does not compromise on connectivity. The Lentor MRT station connects residents to the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), making it easy to access the rest of Singapore. For those that have yet to explore one of the newer MRT lines, the TEL not only brings you to Orchard, the CBD as well as to the eastern part of Singapore in the not so distant future. I have also gone car-lite since TEL started operating at Lentor MRT, and I must say the convenience and adventures have been most welcomed!


The TEL also connects to Brighthill station (part of the upcoming Cross Island line), Caldecott (Circle Line), Woodlands (North-South Line) as well as Stevens (Downtown Line) etc. The provides greater accessibility in addition to the already proximal locality to both the Yio Chu Kang MRT (North-South Line) as well as the wide expanse of both the Ang Mo Kio and Yishun towns.

Major roads like Lentor Avenue and Yio Chu Kang Road provide quick access to the Central Expressway (CTE) and Seletar Expressway (SLE), ensuring easy travel to the city and other parts of the island. The North-South Corridor (NSC) is expected to be completed in phrases from 2027 is a multi-modal transportation corridor that will enhance connectivity from the northern region to the city, reducing travelling time. I must say that while the present has been great, I am totally looking forward to 2027!

One compelling feature of Lentor is its proximity to nature such as Thomson Nature Park and Lower Peirce Reservoir Park. Residents can enjoy the tranquillity of nature trails soaking in the flora and fauna.


Within Lentor itself, there will also be the upcoming Hillock Park and Linear Park.
